Case Study 5

A EU citizen from Greece was referred to BFT by Bradford Rape Crisis. She came to the UK with her sons to escape from an abusive marriage. She faced much difficulty in her journey and felt she would be safe in the UK. Unfortunately she was attacked in broad daylight in Bradford. Understandably she then suffered a mental breakdown and was extremely fearful. BFT assisted with a high level of pastoral care and referred her to agencies who could provide her with further specialised assistance. BFT also helped her settle into a new home and assisted her for a furniture grant. BFT has continued to support her and her children to settle into this country.
