Case Study 1

BFT assisted a 21 year old girl who had been trafficked through multiple countries by smugglers who abused her and took her passport.  She thankfully managed to flee and came to the UK. She was housed in a hotel whilst the Home Office assessed her claim. She had no access to any funds at all until her claim had been accepted. She needed both financial assistance and pastoral support to overcome her trauma. BFT was able to provide this which had a huge positive impact on her mental health. She became a much happier and confident person and did not require further help from BFT. She is now part of our volunteer team.
